Photos: Nigerian Man Commits Suicide At The Lagos State Magistrate Court By Jumping Off A 3 Storey Building All Because He Owed N40k

A yet to be identified man committed suicide at the Lagos state Magistrate court in Ogba, Lagos state yesterday due to a N40, 000 debt he has not been able to settle. He was arrested by the police after his creditor laid a complaint at the police station. He had been in prison for six months because he failed to pay up the money. Yesterday, he was arraigned in court. The young man who was apparently fed up with life, jumped to his death after his case was heard. Sad! Twitter user @O_Nife shared the sad story. See his tweets below

-This man jumped from the 3rd floor of the Lagos State Magistrate Court in Ogba. He owed 40k. Been in prison on remand for the past 6 months. After his case today, he took the leap to his death. The law should have a human face. This is very sad

-Our problem is this country is simple. We lack empathy for each other. I hope the owner of the 40k is happy now. I hope the IPO that chose to charge the matter to court is happy now, I hope the magistrate is happy now.

-Last but not the least, I hope the court officials and wardens that stood by and watched this man grapple with death for over 5 minutes without trying to help him, I hope y’all are happy now.

I hope thunder fires all of you according to the works of your hands.
