Many Nigerians in Libya Don’t Want To Return” – Minister Of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Says

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, says some Nigerians trapped in Libya have refused to come home despite the ongoing hardship they are subjected to in the country’s slave trade market.

Onyeama disclosed this to newsmen after the Federal Executive Council meeting that took place yesterday, December 6th. According to him, the Federal government is currently in talks with officials of Nigeria’s Charge D’Affairs in Libya to ascertain the number of Nigerians held up in Libya detntion centers so as to expedite action in bringing them back home. He said information from the officers shows that some Nigerians are unwilling to come back home.

‘The charge d’affairs officials have said a number of Nigerians, not all of them, do not want to come back home. Certainly, it has to be only those that want to come back home’. he said

Over 3000 Nigerians have been evacuated home since the illicit slave trade business happening in Libya was brought to light.
