Woman flogged 7 times for standing too close to man in Aceh, Indonesia

A total of five people, including two women and three men, were on Monday, caned outside a mosque in the conservative province of Aceh in Indonesia, which adheres to Sharia law.
A 34-year-old woman (pictured) was flogged with a rattan cane at least seven times for being in close proximity to a man who is not her husband.
The 32-year-old male who was with her was also flogged seven times.

"It hurts so bad," the woman said, as cited by AFP, raising her arms into the air.

Two university students, both 19, received 100 lashes, after confessing to having sex outside marriage. A man found guilty of sex outside marriage was also flogged at least 22 times by the person delivering the punishment, who was dressed in long robes and a hood. His partner, who is two-months pregnant, is still waiting for her fate to be decided.

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Godwin Obla granted N20m each

Justice Akeem Oshodi of the Lagos state High Court today granted Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Godwin Obla, bail based on self recognition in the sum of Twenty Million Naira each which is to be deposited with the registrar of the court. Ajumogobia and Obla were Monday arraigned on a 30-count charge of offering gratification to a public servant, unlawful enrichment, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and giving false information to an officer of the Commission.
Justice Oshodi granted their bail applications and ordered them to deposit their International Passports with the court. Both Ajumogobia and Obla were given a 7 day ultimatum to perfect the bail conditions, otherwise their bail will be revoked.

During their trial, the first prosecuting witness, Ademola Oshodi, who is a branch manager of Diamond Bank, told the court that he is Justice Ajumogobia's account manager and carried out various transactions for her.

He said he used to receive monies in Naira and U.S Dollars and that he often made deposits into her Diamond bank account. Ademola further revealed that there were transactions between him and the defendant wherein he would receive monies for her and send to her account.


"Whenever there was a cash inflow of more than Five Hundred Thousand, I will keep a certain amount in my account, and forward the remaining to her account" he said.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia, allegedly received gratifications from a public servant and also unlawfully enriched herself by receiving huge sums of money into her Diamond Bank account without reasonable explanation. The Federal High Court Judge also gave false information to an officer of the EFCC that she was admitted at Gold Cross Hospital, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos which turned out to be untrue. Obla, SAN, was also alleged to have given the sum of Five Million Naira (N5, 000, 000. 00) to Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia in order to influence her official duties.



The matter was adjourned to January 9, 2017 for continuation of trial.

Nigerian man arrested in the U.S. for scamming elderly woman out of nearly $9,000

A 47-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested for scamming an elderly woman out of nearly $9,000 in Vermillion Parish, Louisiana, US, according to a news release from the Louisiana Attorney General's Office. Attorney General Landry said:


"Our office is on the front lines investigating, arresting, and educating to help stop the awful occurrence of seniors being targeted and preyed upon by scammers". "We want to help Louisiana’s people avoid falling victim to mortgage, contractor, charity and other types of frauds commonly perpetrated on senior citizens."Chigozie Valentine Agu was arrested on charges of Felony Theft in excess of $5,000, Bank Fraud, Money Laundering, and Racketeering.

The Metro Washington Airport Authority at Dulles Airport arrested Agu following an investigation by General Landry’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) as he re-entered the United States. He was extradited to Louisiana and booked into the Vermillion Parish Correctional Center.

"It is an absolutely despicable crime to take advantage of our elderly family, friends, and neighbors," continued General Landry. "No matter the great lengths these shameless criminals take, my office will do all we can to get justice for their victims."In May 2016, Agu contacted an elderly Vermillion Parish resident, telling her he was a Department of Homeland Security official and found a piece of luggage containing money he would return to her for a fee.

The LBI found proof that Agu received the money and that he attempted to conceal his crime through bank wire transfers and a third party. Overall, Agu scammed the elderly woman out of $8,890.

Man rapes and kills eight-year-old girl who was waiting for a bus to take her to church

This 53-year-old monster pictured above to the left, Glen R. Ramey, has been arrested for the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Sabrina Stauffenberg, who was snatched from her front porch as she waited for a ride to church. Police found Sabrina's body on Wednesday by tracing her cell phone signal.

According to MailOnline; friends of the family told Fox News that Ramey, who has mental health problems, was dating a relative of the child.
Sabrina’s stepmother also confirmed to DailyMail that the rapist is a friend of the child’s father.

Shortly before Sabrina's disappearance, she had called her Grandmother to let her know that the church bus was late to pick her up. She also informed her Grandmother that she would wait until the bus arrived to take her to church.

Ramey has been taken into custody by Illinois State Police on Sunday.

He is accused of killing Sabrina whose body was found behind a vinegar plant earlier in the week. He is also being charged with predatory sexual assault of a child and murder while being remanded in custody at Richland County Jail.
